Tartine Sycamore

A lovely, hidden restaurant, tucked away in an up-and-coming neighborhood is Tartine Sycamore. Known for their incredible pastries, desserts, and breads (can we say pretzel challah!), Tartine has delicious salads, sandwiches, and more. Everything is made fresh daily and can be packaged for you to enjoy at home. In addition, their Coffee Manufactory is located on sight so you can order a freshly roasted cup of joe, or indulge in a hot latte.

The Malibu Cafe at Calimigos Ranch

Escape L.A. and enjoy the day at The Malibu Cafe at Calamigos Ranch. Back open for everyone to enjoy with friends and family. Bring your own blankets or towels, order your food to-go, and take a seat on their expansive lawns. All of their oversized games and paddle boats are open to the public as well as their numerous bars. Don’t forget to bring your mask! And your doggies are welcome, too.

Forma Restaurant & Cheese Bar

Forma Restaurant & Cheese Bar, the delicious Santa Monica Italian eatery that has found success on Montana Ave. for the last few years, just opened their second location on Main Street in Venice. By the looks of the filled tables and people waiting to be seated outside, Forma sure seems to have another hit on their hands. In addition to their signature pastas finished off in large cheese wheels, Forma offers a diverse selection of Italian main courses, including seafood and meat, an amazing variety of cheese so you may assemble your own cheeseboard, and don’t forget their insanely delicious desserts and diverse wine selection. Make a reservation and enjoy!

Tiato Kitchen & Market

One of the most beautiful restaurants in Santa Monica is Tiato Kitchen + Garden Venue. You truly have to see their outdoor dining area to believe it. Extremely spacious, free Wi-Fi and parking, and you will dine among herb gardens, lush greenery, as well as a variety of comfortable seating options. Enjoy their new Garden Nights, Wed-Fri from 4:30-8pm, in addition to their regular breakfast, lunch, and brunch hours. Those in the know will order their famous garlic noodles as the lovely owner, Catherine, hails from the An family of Crustacean in Beverly Hills. Their Asian-inspired menu is beyond delicious, but also enjoy their fabulous smoothies, and order BBQ kits to-go, prepared meals, produce, and essentials.

And One Fabulous Destination…

Perry’s Cafe & Beach Rentals

Did you know you could have Butler Service on the beach? Well, at Perry's Cafe and Beach Rentals, with their four eateries along Santa Monica Beach, has been serving locals and tourists alike for over 44 years. In addition to their outstanding cafés, Perry’s offers beach rentals at a total of nine locations (which includes the four offering food) stretching from Santa Monica to Redondo Beach where you can rent items such as roller blades, bikes, paddle boards, boogie boards, and more. At the cafés, the cuisine is not what you’d expect from a beachside restaurant. From a gourmet brie burger to Mahi Mahi fish tacos, fresh grilled salmon to yummy breakfast burritos, you will be pleasantly surprised at how delicious your meal will be. And shortly, Perry’s will be offering alcohol service as well so you can enjoy that cold beer on the beach. The best part... Perry’s offers their one-of-a-kind Beach Butler service where you will be pampered and waited on while watching dolphins and taking in our famous Santa Monica waves. This service was phenomenal as the food was served to us as we sat waterside where we truly relaxed. It was such a luxurious treat!

A little extra something: Here are some HIDDEN GEMS I covered this week…

Lady Byrd Cafe

Talk about social distancing! Lady Byrd Cafe, located in Echo Park, has you dine in private greenhouses among a serene setting and abundant greenery. To top it off, this beautiful restaurant has amazing food and is open every day, serving breakfast, lunch, dinner as well as high tea. The lemon poppyseed pancakes (pictured) were phenomenal and they offer salads, sandwiches, burgers, and a variety of other options. The smoothies were fabulous as well (I really enjoyed the Little Bee Hummingbird which is also pictured). One bit of advice: unless you get there when it opens, prepare for a wait as this is a very popular restaurant.

There you will find the most unique desserts in a variety of flavors, including rainbow crêpes, Ube cake, Oreo chocolate macaroons, a variety of slushies, Americano coffee and matcha lattes, Korean teas, Yakult, virgin Mojito‘s, and more. Dragon Boba is highly dedicated to BTS, with their pictures adorning baked goods, Instagrammable cut outs you can pose with, and their music videos continuously playing on jumbo screens above the cashier. But you must try their mochi donuts that come in a variety of flavors, including Fruity Pebbles. They are amazing!

Heritage Square Museum

It was a “Beautiful Mourning” at Heritage Square Museum. Celebrating Halloween & Dia de los Muertos, Heritage Square Museum is a living history museum that showcases eight historic structures constructed during the Victorian era. They were saved from demolition and now give us an amazing look at the lifestyles of the people who lived so long ago. Located just minutes outside of Downtown, this hidden gem should definitely be on your bucket list.
