It's Hot Outside and We're Stuck Inside

OUR BEAUTIFUL BEACHES ARE BECKONING US TO VISIT BUT WE KNOW THE RIGHT THING IS TO STAY HOME… AGAIN!

Yes, an exasperated sigh was just let out of your mouth. I get it. But it is gorgeous outside and our inner selves want to play, to take advantage of the reasons we live in this pristine climate. And as the temperatures rise to scorching levels, being cooped up inside is not a pleasurable idea. Not all of us are blessed with swimming pools or backyards with an assortment of lounge furniture. So we must make do with what we have inside, grin and bear it, and know that if we do our part to flatten the curve, we will be better off in the long run.

Knowing this, let me turn that frown upside down with some really cool virtual ideas and product recommendations. Be creative and think outside the box. Trust me that I have to live by my own words as a single mother with two teenagers, as it’s easier said than done. NOTE: Don’t forget to check my past blogs for previous virtual ideas, hidden gems, product recommendations, and more.

A PARTING NOTE

This week is NATIONAL VOLUNTEER WEEK. Let’s make a difference and you can do it, even from home. Enlist your children, friends, family, colleagues, virtually. Here are some organizations that need our help, more than ever, during these troubled times:

A group of high school students in Calgary, Canada have started a hotline to help bring smiles to lonely senior’s faces. You can dial 1-877-JOY-4ALL (1-877-569-4255). Callers will hear pre-recorded, continuously updated jokes, poems, and messages of positivity. Please spread the word.

And last, let’s thank…

  • Pilots, flight attendants, train conductors, and transit workers.

  • Farmers, bank employees, essential state and government staff.

  • Teachers, the military, people who lead us in faith, social workers, prison staff, and those who work with the homeless.

  • Doctors, nurses, medical professionals, pharmacists, health aides, veterinarians, funeral professionals, emergency workers, paramedics, the police, firemen & women, and lab technicians.

  • Grocery workers, restaurant staff, and those behind the scenes who help put food on your table.

  • And all other essential workers, we thank you for putting your life on the line FOR US.❤️
